Make Your Mark:
BlackLine is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic Finance & Accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of our Indian tax reporting and statutory compliance, ensuring adherence to Indian tax laws and regulations. The role requires a deep understanding of corporate taxation, GST, and other applicable taxes and compliance matters in India.

Key Responsibilities:
• Tax Compliance:
o Review annual corporate income tax return and manage quarterly advance tax computations.
o Oversee monthly withholding tax computations for all vendor payments (resident & non-resident payments.)
o Manage and file quarterly withholding tax returns, ensuring compliance with TDS/TCS regulations.
o Assist in getting all certifications required for tax payments 15CA/CB, other certifications for returns, refunds etc.
o Manage all GST related compliance, including monthly GSTR1, GSTR3B & GSTR2B reconciliations, annual GST returns including GSTR9 & GSTR9C filings, and regular and timely ITC refund applications.
o Respond to tax notices, demands, and inquiries from tax authorities, and collaborate with the U.S. tax team in managing all Indian tax controversy matters, including the negotiation of tax settlements.
• US GAAP, Statutory financials & Non-tax compliance:
o Prepare annual US GAAP tax provision and quarterly statutory tax provisions.
o Prepare monthly tax account reconciliations.
o Manage and provide support for the annual statutory audit.
o Oversee the Annual Return on Foreign Liabilities & Assets and the Annual Performance report, ensuring compliance with RBI regulations.
o Oversee monthly SOFTEX filings.
o Prepare MPRs and SERF returns monthly.
o Manage tax (revenue) invoices and e-invoicing monthly.
Advisory and Support:
o Provide guidance for payroll and HR function regarding payroll taxes, withholding and employee mobility matters.
o Collaborate with the U.S. tax team, along with external tax advisors and consultants on complex tax matters including transfer pricing analyses, Company mergers & acquisitions and other business transactions.
o Conduct tax research and analysis to support decision-making and policy formulation.
o Participate in tax-related projects and initiatives.
o Implement tax "best practices" for tax automation (tax provision and tax compliance to minimize reliance upon outside service providers.
o Collaborate with Company Secretary, Corporate legal team, and other advisors with respect to general corporate secretarial matters in India.
What You'll Bring:
• Education:
o Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
o Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is required, and a Master's degree in Taxation is preferred.
• Experience:
o Strong Indian GAAP and US GAAP tax provisioning experience required.
o A minimum of 5 years, tax-based experience with a Big 4 accounting firm and 3+ years of corporate experience is required.
o SaaS industry, multi-national corporate tax experience is preferred.
o GST compliance & tax controversy experience is preferred.
o Extensive experience with tax laws, including corporate income tax, GST, and other indirect taxes.
