Designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting firmware, systems and equipment. Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products. Plans the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
- 6 years of Experience with embedded microcontroller systems
- Experience with automated testing of firmware and scripting
- Design, verification, and validation of embedded firmware
- Fluency with the C programming language and familiarity with C++ and Python programming languages
- Experience with VisualDSP++, IAR development environments and associated debugging tools ( JTAG etc.. )
- Familiarity with basic electronics lab equipment and their use in diagnosing and debugging issues with embedded microcontroller systems
- Familiarity with standard data transfer and communication protocols including Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, Modbus, RS232/485
- Solid technical, analytical, problem-solving skills, with strong attention to details
- Assist in failure analysis/mitigation of legacy firmware design issues
