Role Overview
We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Visual Designer with 3-5 years of experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in designing good & functional UI to join our dynamic design team. Illustration creation is a bonus!
As a Senior Visual Designer, you will play a key role in shaping the user experience of our digital products and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create intuitive and visually appealing interfaces that meet the needs of our users.
What would you work on?
- Focus: lead the creation and implementation of user interface designs that align with the company's brand and product goals.
- Blade Design Systems: Collaborate with our internal design systems team, assisting with UI design initiatives.
- Establish New UI Standards: Work closely with the design team to enhance and innovate, setting fresh design benchmarks for aesthetics and visual appeal.
- Illustration Design: Develop illustrations and icons that complement the brand identity and improve user comprehension of complex features and functionalities.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all UI design assets adhere to brand guidelines and maintain consistency across various platforms and devices.
- Product Experience Enhancements: Collaborate with the product design team to integrate UI design elements that enhance user interaction and experience across our products.
What do we expect from you?
- Establish and promote design guidelines, UI patterns and standards to ensure consistency and quality across all design projects.
- Collaborate with the design system team, PMs and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience.
- Collaborate with designers across teams to curate & innovate on the new aesthetics & patterns.
- Good communication and presentation skills to articulate design decisions to key stakeholders and team members.
- Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate design concepts and solutions.
- Maintaining or helping us evolve our core principles in visual styles, typography, spacing, motion & other interaction models.
- Collaborate with the brand team to create illustrations that effectively convey our brand story.
- Facilitate meetings and ensure all the voices in the room are heard. Also, helping raise the bar for design at Razorpay by participating in design critiques to drive new design initiatives.
- Expert-level understanding of the design tools (Figma/Sketch/etc.)
Brownie Points
- You’ve worked on design systems in the past.
- You have a good understanding of HTML, CSS & JS. Although, you are not expected to code.
- You’ve experienced working with No-code tools.
- You have strong opinions, loosely held
- You spend time agonising over the meta-design details but know when to choose progress over perfection.
- You have experience designing cross-platform experiences, from the web to native mobile.
