Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Unix Platform Manager with strong expertise in Linux, HP-UX, PCS clustering and Ansible automation to lead mission-critical infrastructure operations. The candidate will be responsible for managing Unix platforms, high availability cluster environments, automation strategy, and leading a team supporting production, DR, and non-production systems.
This role requires deep technical expertise, leadership capability, and ownership of platform availability, reliability, and automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Ownership & Team Leadership• Lead Unix platform operations across Linux and HP-UX environments• Manage and mentor a team of Unix/Linux engineers (L2/L3)• Define operational standards, SOPs, and platform governance• Ensure high platform availability, performance, and reliability• Drive automation and modernization initiatives
Linux & HP-UX System Administration• Manage and maintain enterprise Unix environments including:
o RHEL Linux
o HP-UX (11i v2 / v3)• Perform system installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades• Manage storage, filesystems, LVM, and multipathing• Perform system performance tuning and troubleshooting• Implement OS hardening and security compliance

Incident, Problem & Change Management• Lead resolution of critical incidents (P1/P2)• Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and preventive measures• Ensure SLA adherence and service availability• Participate in change planning and risk assessment
HP-UX Platform Management• Manage HP-UX systems in production and DR environments• Manage Serviceguard (if applicable)• Support legacy critical enterprise applications hosted on HP-UX• Perform performance tuning and troubleshooting
Vendor & Stakeholder Management• Coordinate with application, database, network, and cloud teams• Work with hardware and OS vendors (HPE, Red Hat, Oracle)• Provide management reports, risk assessments, and improvement plans
Mandatory Skills:
Unix/Linux Expertise• Strong experience in Linux administration (RHEL / Oracle Linux)• Strong experience in HP-UX administration (HP-UX 11i)• Deep understanding of Unix system internals
