Firebolt builds high-performance data infrastructure for teams that have outgrown "good enough" analytics. We recently launched Firebolt OSS, our open-source real-time lakehouse, and we're currently in private preview — which means we're in the rare, high-leverage window where the foundations we lay now compound for years.

Why this role, why now
Most companies bolt on SEO after launch and spend years digging out of a hole. We want to do it the other way around. Before we go fully public, we're building our organic search and AI answer-engine presence from the ground up — so that when a data engineer asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews, or Claude "what's the fastest open-source lakehouse?", Firebolt is in the answer.
You'll own a real slice of that, with real ownership and real impact — not coffee runs.

Duration: 3 months
RequirementsSearch Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Run keyword and topic research tailored to a technical, developer-and-data-engineer audience
- Write content briefs and optimize on-page elements (titles, metadata, headings, internal linking)
- Audit technical SEO basics (site structure, page speed signals, crawlability) and flag fixes
- Track performance in Google Search Console and GA4, and report what's moving
- Benchmark our visibility against players like ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery, and DuckDB
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)
- Structure content so it gets cited by AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude)
- Build comparison pages, FAQs, and structured/schema-marked content that LLMs love to surface
- Monitor how (and whether) Firebolt shows up in AI-generated answers, and track our "share of voice"
- Experiment, measure, and document what actually moves the needle in AI search — this is a new frontier and you'll help us write the playbook
Bonus points for: familiarity with SEO tools (Ahrefs, Semrush, GSC), basic HTML, a personal blog/portfolio, or having already played with prompting LLMs to understand how they surface sources.
