Under limited direction, this individual will work closely with business analysts and team members to understand requirements and build technical solutions aligned with business and IT strategies. The ServiceNow Developer will configure and customize the ServiceNow platform with a strong focus on Flow Designer, scripting, Service Portal, Business Rules, and Access Controls (ACLs) to drive higher process maturity and efficiency.
Requirements:
+ Analyze requirements and translate them into scalable ServiceNow designs and deliverables (workflows/flows, integrations, portal experiences, and reports).
+ Build, maintain, and optimize Flow Designer flows (including subflows, actions, approvals, notifications, and error handling) with strong debugging/troubleshooting capability.
+ Develop and maintain server-side and client-side scripts (Script Includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions) following best practices and performance guidelines.
+ Implement robust security and access patterns using roles, groups, and ACLs; ensure least-privilege access and data segregation as required.
+ Configure and customize Service Portal: pages, widgets, themes, and branding; develop custom widgets using AngularJS where needed.
+ Configure data model elements such as tables, fields, forms, lists, dictionary entries, and related lists; ensure data quality and maintainability.
+ Collaborate with QA for unit testing, defect fixes, and production support; participate in code reviews and ensure quality, reusability, and documentation.
+ Work with cross-functional/global teams in an Agile environment and contribute to continuous improvement of delivery practices.
+ Build and support integrations using IntegrationHub/Spokes and APIs (REST/SOAP), including authentication patterns, error handling, and monitoring; exposure to MID Server-based integrations is a plus.
+ Must have: Hands-on experience building Service Portal experiences including custom widgets, pages, and themes; strong HTML/CSS and AngularJS knowledge for widget development.
+ Must have: Strong understanding of ServiceNow data model and CMDB concepts (tables/relationships, CI classes, identification & reconciliation fundamentals). Experience with ITOM Discovery/Service Mapping is a plus.
+ Preferred: Exposure to AI features such as Now Assist / AI Agents (as applicable) and automation use cases.
+ Own your work end-to-end: design, configuration/development, testing support, deployment readiness, and post-go-live support.
+ Design solutions with performance, security, and future scalability in mind.
+ Troubleshoot complex platform issues (flows, scripts, portal widgets, ACLs, Business Rules) in a dynamic Agile environment.
+ Partner with QA and stakeholders for UAT support and remediation of issues.
Preferences:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
+ 3–5 years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience (configuration + customization).
+ Deep technical understanding and hands-on expertise in Flow Designer, scripting, Service Portal, Business Rules, ACLs, and custom widget development.
+ Integration expertise: Hands-on experience with ServiceNow integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and/or IntegrationHub (Spokes); understanding of authentication, data mapping/transformations, and troubleshooting.
+ Hands-on working experience across ITSM, HRSD, and CSM modules (configuration and customization). Exposure to GRC, ITAM, ITOM/CMDB is a plus.
+ Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Experience collaborating with global teams across multiple geographies and time zones.
