The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.
Within NSG, the Electronic Programs Division (EPD) serves as SIGINT domain experts to define, deliver, and analyze performance for SIGINT systems. In this opportunity you will serve as a SIGINT Systems Engineer (Project Engineer/Sr. Project Engineer - Enterprise Systems Engineering) for a new architecture, to include all associated system and subsystem interfaces and functionality. You will be the team's front-facing representative with Senior Government Officials to review and advise them on requirements authoring and flow-down, process and change management, and risk management. You will work closely with the Aerospace modeling and simulation team to analyze impacts from requirements changes, architecture changes, and to define impacts to risks. Additionally, you will work with other Directorates to manage interface definitions and requirement linkages.
Work Model
This is a full-time position based in Chantilly, VA, which requires 100% onsite work.
What You'll Be Doing
- Serve as a multi-disciplined systems engineer in the program office assisting in the development and fielding of the next generation SIGINT architecture
- Investigate and be familiar with (Project Engineer) and contribute to authorship of (Sr. Project Engineer) interface definitions across the architecture, to include space, ground C2 and processing
- Contribute to (Project Engineer) or Lead (Sr. Project Engineer) architectural implementation trades leveraging the Aerospace mission analysis team
- Identify opportunities for (Project Engineer) and/or Lead (Sr. Project Engineer) Aerospace matrix engineering organization and laboratory resources (ETG) to support concept development, requirement and mission analyses, and technology demonstrations
- Engage with (Project Engineer) or serve as the primary Aerospace interface to (Sr. Project Engineer) the Government Customer(s), while working collaboratively with a wide variety of other support contractors (e.g.- SETA) and development contractors who are associated with the program
- Present technical findings and recommendations to (Project Engineer) and/or independently generate technical findings and recommendations for (Sr. Project Engineer) Government Customers and Aerospace management
- Apply knowledge of Systems Engineering discipline to review (Project Engineer) or advise (Sr. Project Engineer) the MBSE/DE approach to program requirements management
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for the Project Engineer - Enterprise Systems Engineering
- 8 years of progressively more responsible systems engineering experience
- Bachelors degree in engineering or related discipline
- Technical knowledge of satellite systems to include interfaces between SOC, spacecraft, ground, software & C2
- Systems Engineering requirements definition and management experience for space systems
- This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
- Willing to travel to program design reviews up to 10% of time, as required.
In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Sr. Project Engineer - Enterprise Systems Engineering include:
- 12 years of progressively more responsible systems engineering experience
- Experience working with matrixed engineering organizations
- 2 Years of relevant Enterprise Systems Engineering experience within one of the Customer's organizations
