Job Description: This role is part of the Client Computing Group (CCG) at Intel. Our team is committed to the pre-silicon and post-silicon validation of cutting-edge SoC products, ensuring the highest quality and performance standards. We are seeking an experienced SoC Debug Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role demands a deep understanding of SoC architectures and a strong aptitude for troubleshooting complex issues. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
� Conducting systematic debugging of complex system-level failures, designing experiments to identify root causes, and coordinating with various teams for experiment execution.
� Collaborating with design teams to develop workarounds and validate fixes once issues are identified.
� Utilizing advanced debug tools and methodologies to analyse and resolve hardware and software issues.
� Developing and implementing debug strategies to efficiently isolate and resolve issues.
� Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including design, verification, validation, SW, and driver teams, to identify and resolve issues.
� Continuously improving debug processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
� Documenting and communicating findings, solutions, and best practices to the team and stakeholders.
� Working in both pre-silicon and post-silicon validation environments to support next-generation silicon products.
� Taking initiative to drive issues to resolution, demonstrating ownership regardless of organizational structure and team boundaries.
� Leading and driving cross-geographical, cross-functional task forces to identify solutions for SoC-level failures.
� Exhibiting strong interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to collaborate and influence across disciplines.
� Mentoring and guiding junior engineers in debug techniques and best practices
Qualifications:Qualifications
� A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, with over 14 years of relevant work experience.
� Expertise in CPU bring-up, system-level debugging, root cause isolation, and familiarity with debug methodologies and tools.
� Comprehensive understanding of System Hardware/Firmware/Software integration.
� In-depth knowledge of SoC-level processes and a strong grasp of domains such as CPU, memory subsystems, peripheral interfaces, SoC resets, and power management.
� Good knowledge of Intel IA (IA32 architecture), including microarchitecture debug knowledge of Intel's Core and Uncore, or equivalent architectures.
� Strong data analysis skills with meticulous attention to detail, coupled with patient and disciplined problem-solving abilities.
� A passion for working on CPU/SoC hardware, with a keen interest in various levels of debugging.
� Ability to optimize the debug process and drive systematic improvements in debug methods, tools, and features based on expertise and findings.
� Hands-on experience with complex SoC issues and experience in managing cross-team/site task forces.
� Proficiency with debug tools for JTAG, on-chip trace features, and the ability to debug using oscilloscopes and logic analysers; experience with post-silicon debug tools such as logic analysers, oscilloscopes, and protocol analysers/exercisers.
� Strong initiative, analytical and problem-solving skills, teamwork abilities, multitasking capability, and the ability to work effectively within a diverse team environment.
� Proficient in C/Python programming to write debug script and understand the validation content.
� Demonstrated collaboration skills with various partner teams, including design, architecture, firmware, tools, and driver teams, during complex failure debugging.
� Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience working in cross-functional and cross-geographical team environments.
