About the role


As a Software Development Engineer IV specialising in Insurer Integrations, you will play a critical role in expanding Plum's capabilities and reach. This position involves coordinating with insurance companies and third-party providers to seamlessly integrate their APIs with Plum's software stack. You will be instrumental in building and maintaining robust integrations that support our

strategic objectives and enhance our service offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the integration of external APIs from insurance and third-party providers into Plumʼs platform.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a shared roadmap for integrations, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient software solutions using Java, with Node.js as an additional skill asset.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of integration projects, from requirements gathering to deployment and support.
  • Ensure the reliability and performance of integrations by implementing robust testing and monitoring practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the teamʼs growth and knowledge-sharing culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorʼs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 - 7 years of professional software development experience, with a strong background in Java.
  • Proven experience in leading vertical integration projects, preferably in the healthcare or insurance sectors.
  • Familiarity with Node.js is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
