JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you’ll work to ensure only our best work makes it to our customers. You’ll engage with a collaborative, high powered team to develop and execute test plans and automation suites for projects with a reach of millions. The solutions you’ll test will ensure robustness, and integrity for our customers and business. The automation you'll create will enhance our agility as we continue to scale. You’ll take end to end ownership of new features and product lines shaping work in early stages, instrumenting our ability to test, coordinating with stakeholders for deployment to ensure we’re hitting our goals.

Travel for company offsites is expected at a minimum 2 times a year.

Key Responsibilities
Test Automation:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.

  • Develop Test Tools to compliment manual testing where necessary. 

  • Integrate automated tests into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline.

Test Planning and Design:

  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and design test plans.

  • Identify test scenarios and create detailed test cases.

Quality Assurance:

  • Perform manual testing when necessary to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

  • Conduct performance, load, and stress testing to ensure system reliability under various conditions.

Defect Tracking and Management:

  • Identify, document, and track defects using bug tracking tools.

  • Work with development teams to resolve issues and verify fixes.

Code Review and Development:

  • Participate in code reviews to ensure testability and adherence to quality standards.

  • Contribute to the development of software features, focusing on testability and quality.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze test results and metrics to identify areas for improvement in the testing process.

  • Stay updated with the latest testing tools, techniques, and industry trends.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and operations, to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Communicate testing progress, results, and issues to stakeholders.

Environment Management:

  • Set up and maintain test environments, including test data and configurations.

Security Testing:

  • Conduct security testing to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards.

Candidate Qualifications

  • 6+ years of expertise in Mobile and/or REST API manual testing

  • 5+ years of expertise in REST API automation in Python/JavaScript etc

  • Intermediate or greater programming level in one or more of: Python, Bash scripting

  • Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps in cloud platforms like Azure/AWS is preferable

  • Knowledge of API Performance and Load Testing is a plus.

  • Experience working within an Agile Continuous Delivery team
