As part of our expanding engineering team in India, we seek a skilled Development Manager to lead and manage two teams and contribute to our innovative solutions.

This is a remote position based in Bangalore, India.

Role Overview:

As the Development Manager for Rootstock Software's India operations, you will be pivotal in leading and managing engineering teams, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address business challenges, and contributing to our mission of empowering manufacturers and distributors worldwide. You will report to senior leadership and have the opportunity to shape the future of our development efforts in India.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead and manage two engineering teams in India, providing direction, mentorship, and guidance to team members.
• Global Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration between the India-based teams and our counterparts in the United States and worldwide. Ensure transparency and alignment with stakeholders across various business units.
• Agile Practices: Champion and implement agile development methodologies within your teams, enabling rapid response to market demands and delivering value to our customers.
• Code Quality: Ensure high engineering standards within your teams to maintain our software solutions' reliability, scalability, and innovation. Conduct code reviews to uphold product quality.
• Technical Vision: Contribute to our solutions' technological vision and architectural decisions, guiding the development of software products on the Salesforce platform.
• Talent Acquisition: Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute the hiring strategy for your teams, identifying and attracting top talent to meet growing demands.
• Process Enhancement: Recommend and implement organizational and process improvements to optimize engineering operations for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Backlog Management: Partner with product owners to manage the backlog effectively, ensuring work is well-scoped, actionable, and aligned with business objectives.
• Commitment Oversight: Ensure your engineering teams meet their commitments and project timelines, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with stakeholders across the business, including Product Strategy, Support, and Implementation teams, providing real-time status updates, transparency into the development process, and assisting in issue resolution.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum work experience of 12 years with at least 2 years in a management role.
• Proven experience in software development and team leadership, with a track record of successful collaboration with international teams.
• Familiarity with Salesforce development is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a dynamic organization.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is preferred.
