Make Your Mark:
As a Software Engineer,Test you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our product releases by designing, developing, and maintaining automated test cases for Blackline's cloud-based backend services. You will drive innovation within our automation processes, researching and evaluating modern technologies to propose scalable solutions.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testing requirements, build, and enhance automated test scripts, and optimize existing testing features. You will also mentor and coach less experienced engineers while writing clean, efficient code. Your diligence, creative problem-solving, and proactive mindset will directly impact the success of our products and the efficiency of our development processes.

You'll Get To:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Java, and Cucumber while adhering to timelines, coding standards, requirements, and quality.
- Execute test cases and analyze results, reporting any defects or issues found during testing.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) to ensure alignment with project goals
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Continuously improve testing processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop test plans for features and collaborate with other team members and other teams on reviews and optimizing test plans
- Design and follow coding standards, architectural plans, solve complex design and architectural problems, create robust architectural solutions.
- Maintain high standards of software quality and technical excellence within the team by establishing good practices and habits and writing clean, testable, maintainable, and secure code.
- Proactively identify issues, bottlenecks, gaps, or other areas of concern or opportunity and work to either directly affect change, or advocate for that change by collaborating with peers and leadership to build consensus and act.
- Perform release support activities including occasional off-hours support.
- Adaptable team player with strong collaboration skills and a focus on results and value delivery.
- Passion for engineering excellence, curiosity and demonstrated ability of continuous learning.
What You'll Bring:
- BS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Expert in one or more object-oriented programs like Java and Python
- Strong proficiency in Selenium, Java, and Cucumber for test automation.
- Experience in Backend Api testing using Postman and Rest Assured
- Fluent in SQL, data modeling, stored procedures, and transactional flows.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins.
- Experience using version control systems like Git.
- A solid computer science foundation including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
- Understanding of Software Testing Principles: Knowledge of testing methodologies, including functional, regression, performance, and load testing.
- Experience in building Web Applications, SaaS products, and RESTful APIs is a plus
- Superior analytical, problem-solving and system level performance analysis abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Adaptable team player with strong collaboration skills and a focus on results and value delivery.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Proficiency in tools like JIRA, QTest, or TestRail for tracking testing progress and results.
- Passion for engineering excellence through automation, unit testing, and process improvements
