As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
- Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
- Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
- You will have to hands-on design and development experience in Cognos11 FM and Cognos Analytics studio.
- Understand and analyze business requirements and provide optimized solutions.
- Guide and help the team in their BAU and take ownerships on the deliverables.
- Provide status of BAU work and issues to the Manager in a timely manner. To relay issues that may impact quality or the ability to deliver to timescales or estimates
- Proficiency in Cognos BI (11.0/11.2), Framework manager and performance tuning of Cognos reports
- Ensures adherence to agreed quality assurance and release management procedures for the design, build, testing, integration, and support of software.
- You will be responsible for DevOps Operation such as development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Demonstrable ability to code in one or more languages. Experience in Oracle, SQL, SAP Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, Java/Python. .
- Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
- Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
- Exposure to cloud technologies
- Financial services including middle & back-office knowledge (1+ years) is a plus.
- Prior experience in BI tools (Business Objects/SSRS/Power BI) and ETL technologies (Datastage, preferably) will be a strong advantage. E TL tools like DataStage is preferrable.
