About the role


As we transition from ‘start-up’ to ‘scale-up,’ we’re seeking a senior full stack engineer to help us scale Plum and own the full development lifecycle of our product. In this role, you will have a direct impact on both the frontend and backend development of new features that will shape our platform. You will collaborate with a high-energy, rapidly growing team to deliver creative improvements that will enhance our product. You’ll be responsible for implementing, testing, and delivering solutions that delight our users while adhering to best practices and coding standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Architect, build, test, and deliver new features across the stack to improve performance and quality.
  • Work on scalable, high-performing applications by optimizing both frontend and backend components.
  • Collaborate with designers to build intuitive, responsive user interfaces.
  • Implement and manage API integrations while ensuring performance, security, and scalability.
  • Drive front-end development workflows, including build systems, dependency management, and testing.
  • Solve complex compatibility issues across various devices and platforms.
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to ship impactful features.
  • Ensure code is maintainable, testable, and performs well across different environments.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience building web applications across the full stack.
  • Expertise in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS with a strong grasp of React for frontend development.
  • Proficiency in at least one backend language like Java, Node.js, or Python.
  • Familiarity with database technologies like PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architecture.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes) for deploying scalable applications.
  • Ability to write clean, testable code and maintain high code quality through practices like TDD.
  • Strong product and design sensibilities with a sharp attention to detail.
  • A “self-starter” attitude with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous learning.
  • Prior experience working in Agile or Scrum methodologies.
