Summary
You will be part of the Product Development & Operations (PDO) organization, which is focused on delivering secure, scalable, and efficient cloud operations while driving transformative innovation across AI, cloud, and data platforms. PDO’s FY26 priorities include improving service reliability and security, infusing GenAI into products and developer workflows, and ensuring every customer is successful and realizes measurable value from Guidewire solutions. As an engineer in this group, your work on Integration Gateway will be core to achieving these goals.As a Software Engineer II on Guidewire’s Integration Gateway team in Bengaluru, you will design, build, and run our multi-tenant, cloud-native integration platform used by P&C insurers worldwide. You’ll spend most of your time coding in modern Java, owning microservices end to end—from design and implementation to scalability, availability, and security in production. You will collaborate closely with product and operations partners to deliver reliable, secure integrations that power our customers’ cloud ecosystems and accelerate AI-driven innovation.
Job Description
What You Will DoDesign, develop, and operate multi-tenant, cloud-native integration and SaaS services using modern Java and Spring Boot.
Spend more than 90% of your time in hands-on coding, code reviews, and technical design discussions to deliver high-quality, production-ready software.
Build and evolve microservices and APIs that power the Integration Gateway platform, emphasizing scalability, resiliency, and performance.
Own CI/CD pipelines for your services—automating build, test, security scanning, and deployments in a public cloud environment (AWS or similar).
Implement and maintain observability (metrics, logging, tracing) to detect, triage, and resolve issues in production quickly.
Triage, debug, and resolve defects across the stack, ensuring robust, maintainable solutions.
Maintain secure coding practices and remediate application security findings in partnership with security and operations teams.
Apply a deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization to build efficient and reliable services.
Embrace and responsibly use AI tools in your daily work—for example, to accelerate coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation—aligning with PDO’s goal to deliver GenAI-enabled products and developer experiences.
3–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong programming skills in Java, with experience building production-grade services.
Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
Solid understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization in distributed systems.
Experience working with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS preferred).
Understanding of distributed systems concepts and principles (consistency and availability,
liveness and safety, durability, reliability, fault-tolerance, consensus algorithms)
Ability to work in an agile fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will help Guidewire transform the way the world’s P&C insurers do business by delivering the secure, scalable integration capabilities that connect the Guidewire Cloud platform to the wider insurance ecosystem.
