Job Description Summary:
The Software Engineer in Test-III (SDET) keeps a keen eye on customer commitments and work collaboratively with engineering counterparts to meet customer commitments. The position must build productive working relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer quality specifications. The position is responsible for the design, implementation, and documentation of code automation. Works on problem analysis and exercises judgment based on situations and data. Productive relationships with senior internal and external contacts in their own area of expertise. Leads the activities to closure independently and takes the necessary help/steps to complete.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Validates multiple software products using systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products while working in an agile team

Develops, modifies, and executes complete test plans based on design specifications

Observes and records defects in software products using systematic tests to apply and maintain quality standards for company products

Works closely with development teams to improve product quality and development methodologies related to quality engineering
-
Uses product knowledge and insight to design and execute exploratory testing
-
Applies knowledge and application of best practices in the achievement of QA goals
-
Can communicate within a team environment, consulting with development engineers in resolution of complex problems
-
Ensures quality integration into all aspects of software development, data acquisition, and processing

Automates and improves existing tests and converts new tests to automated suites
-
Creates complete test plans based on design specifications and strategies
-
Updates and creates test cases to support correction of customer reported issues
-
Participates with the development team in feature and test design during team-based development meetings

Identifies test case candidates for automation. Designs and develops automated test case
-
Execute existing test cases; conduct Test Case reviews Maintains documentation and reports status of test results, independently develop test plans for relatively complex features

Has the ability to prove coverage analysis and proactively adjust testing to improve test coverage

Observes and records defects in software products through the use of systematic tests to apply and maintain quality standards for company products

Ability to communicate within a team environment, working with development engineers in resolution of a simple problem

Mentors others; mentors junior SDET's

Recommend processes and procedures for continual improvement
Required Qualifications:
-
5+ years of experience working on software quality
-
Experience in Design using good Object-Oriented programming practices and Design Patterns
-
Has an advanced understanding of QA methodologies.

Min 2-3 years of work experience in manual and automated software testing.

Demonstrated competence in automation using scripting or other languages
-
Experience with problem tracking systems and test case management systems
Preferred Qualifications:

Quality certifications like ASQ a plus
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IS Engineering, or related technical discipline; advance degree preferred
