The team works on building highly scalable, secure, reliable, enterprise grade SaaS contact center software applications with a Build, Test, Deploy, Maintain, Own mindset, using Microservices based architecture and AWS services.
Talkdesk solution supports millions of real time interactions on a scalable data platform across Voice and Digital Channels, offers several NLP and AI capabilities and provides actionable insights to administrators, agents and supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance & Strategy: Design, build, execute, and maintain automated test suites and manual functional test cases for SaaS services hosted on AWS, ensuring product releases meet quality, performance, and five 9’s reliability standards.
- Agile & CI/CD Environment: Work within a modern agile software engineering environment, integrating automated test packs into source code control, dev/stage/prod release pipelines, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) workflows.
- Workflow Management: Manage day-to-day testing tasks, bug tracking, and test execution reporting using GitHub, Jira, and internal Talkdesk systems.
- End-to-End Ownership: Take end-to-end ownership of test coverage for microservices, validate safe deployment practices, and operate with a DevOps/Quality Engineering mindset.
- Test Architecture & Non-Functional Testing: Validate microservices against Security, Reliability, Performance, and Telemetry standards, actively flagging and mitigating technical debt in test coverage.
- Automated & Functional Test Execution: Implement and maintain automated unit, REST API, UI, and end-to-end functional tests running in CI/CD pipelines.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with Product Management, Software Engineers, SRE, and Platform teams to ensure requirement traceability and test coverage alignment from initial design to release.
- Agile Participation: Actively participate in backlog grooming, user story sizing, design reviews, and code/test reviews.
- Reliability & On-Call Support: Validate service reliability and participate in test support for on-call release windows or production incident triage. Apply learnings from Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) to build preventative test cases.
- Continuous Improvement: Research and adopt emerging QA automation tools, test frameworks, and testing methodologies to improve overall test efficiency.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all quality assurance workflows comply with industry regulations and company security standards.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in QA engineering, test automation, and functional testing for highly-available, reliable SaaS applications based on a microservices architecture.
- Automation & Core Tech Stack: Hands-on expertise in test automation framework creation and execution using Java, Python, or JavaScript (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, RestAssured, or PyTest).
- API & Microservices Testing: Deep expertise in REST API testing (using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar) and microservices validation hosted on AWS.
- Domain Knowledge (Desirable): Experience or familiarity with cloud telephony, UCaaS, CCaaS, SIP, SBC, or CPaaS provider integrations.
- Database & Messaging Testing: Experience validating data persistence across databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and message queues / streaming pipelines (e.g., Kafka, Flink).
- Containers & CI/CD Integration: Hands-on experience with Docker/Kubernetes containerized environments and integrating test execution into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Test Design Practices: Proficient in designing robust test plans, regression suites, edge-case scenarios, and automated unit/API test coverage.
- Code & Automation Quality: Passion for writing clean, standards-compliant, maintainable test scripts and frameworks.
- Collaboration & Communication: Experience working effectively within geographically distributed cross-functional teams with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Primarily office-environment work, extended periods of sitting or standing, computer-based work. Limited lifting, and equipment usage limited to computer-related equipment (keyboards, mouse, etc.)
