Software Principal Engineer

Global Asset Management is responsible for maintaining the data integrity and accuracy of the Install Base (internal CRM database) which carries all details of Dell Technologies customer products (assets) sold and shipped to our customers, including details such as customer owning the product, physical location, service channel/partner assigned to the product, warranty entitlement status, product operating system version . As Install Base data feeds other information systems used by various business units, Install Base Group ensures that data is represented properly in Install Base to meet the information needs of the other business units

What you’ll achieve

As a Software Principal Engineer, you will take part in software design and implementation of multiple projects with different technologies and high-risk automation projects that aim to increase the efficiency and data quality of the install base. From design to delivery. You will collaborate with different engineering teams at Dell Technologies .
You will:

• Use the most efficient method or develop a method to Add, update, remove and correct Install Base data records, based on reports, cross functional analysis, metrics or KPIs, while complying with the operational standards and procedures.

• Oversee keeping Install Base data up to date to match the dynamic business changes as well as physical changes that occur in Dell products possessed by any customer

• Proactively explore opportunities of continuous improvements for the data quality through identifying data errors, investigating to determine root causes and proposing solutions (data cleanup projects, system enhancements, automation…)

• Trace products’ data flows in several Information systems through the product lifecycle and different information systems, deducing comparative analysis between large data sets

• Analyzes data and reporting to identify trends, systemic gaps, scoping and targeting impacted data records, also, be able to draft technical solutions showing business value while complying with operational procedures and document suggested proposals in a professional document or presentation slides.

Essential Requirements

• Experience with object-oriented programming, Microservices, REST API design, React, and databases

• Good knowledge in container technologies and Kubernetes and Systems thinking and understanding workflows

• Robotics Process Automation, macros, front end automation scripting

• Programing languages (Java, Python, Go or JavaScript….)

• Experience in leading technical discussions, architecture and design construction, and requirements elicitation

Desirable Requirements

• 6 to 8 years of related experience

• Bachelor’s degree along with Database querying across multiple databases (SQL or similar
