Software Test Lead

Summary of Position:

As a Software Test Automation Lead, you will a core member of Digital Health Foundational Services Engineering team to lead design, develop & deliver Test automation for Digital Health products. We are seeking an experienced and strategic Software Test Automation Lead with a deep background in healthcare device connectivity, user interfaces (UI), and API testing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with advanced test automation tools such as Tricentis Tosca, Selenium, and others, and will be responsible for leading the design, development, and execution of automated testing solutions across our Digital Health products. As a key member of the leadership team, you will guide a team of test automation & manual test engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure that our testing processes and systems meet the highest standards in Digital Health technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test Automation Development:
  • Architect, design, and maintain advanced test automation frameworks and scripts using tools like Tricentis Tosca, Selenium, Appium, and others.
  • Drive the integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless and continuous testing throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Ensure comprehensive test coverage by developing detailed test cases and plans based on product requirements and technical specifications.
• Healthcare Device Connectivity Testing:
  • Lead the automation of tests for healthcare device connectivity, ensuring robust and reliable communication and data integrity between devices and software applications.
  • Validate device interoperability and compliance with healthcare industry standards such as HL7, FHIR, and DICOM.
• User Interface Testing:
  • Guide the automation of end-to-end UI testing for web applications, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience across different devices and platforms.
  • Establish standards for testing UI elements, including responsiveness, accessibility, and usability, and ensure adherence by the team.
  • Utilize tools like Tricentis Tosca and Selenium to lead cross-browser and cross-device testing efforts.
• API Testing:
  • Lead the design, development, and execution of automated tests for RESTful APIs, ensuring the integrity, reliability, and performance of backend services.
  • Oversee the use of tools like Postman, or JMeter for creating and automating API test cases, ensuring comprehensive validation of API functionality.
  • Coordinate integration testing between APIs and healthcare devices, ensuring seamless data exchange and end-to-end functionality.
• Hands-On Test Execution and Troubleshooting:
  • Lead by example by executing automated test scripts, analyzing test results, and driving issue resolution.
  • Ensure the documentation and reporting of bugs are thorough and actionable, facilitating quick resolution by development teams.
  • Participate in manual testing as needed, especially for complex scenarios or critical features.
• Leadership and Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of test automation engineers, fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for test automation within the organization, aligning with business goals and product roadmaps.
  • Oversee the planning, prioritization, and execution of test automation activities across multiple projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Test Strategy and Continuous Improvement:
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define and refine test strategies that align with project objectives and timelines.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify high-priority areas requiring focused testing efforts.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, staying updated on the latest trends in test automation and implementing best practices across the team.
• Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of test automation projects, including progress, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Ensure clear communication and collaboration between the test automation team and other cross functional teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Prepare and present test metrics, demonstrating the effectiveness and coverage of automated tests.

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in software test automation, with a focus on healthcare devices, UI, and API testing.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading test automation strategy & initiatives.
  • Proven expertise in using test automation tools such as Tricentis Tosca, Selenium, Appium, and API testing tools like Postman, SOAP UI, or JMeter.
• Skills:
  • Strong understanding of healthcare device communication protocols (HL7, FHIR).
  • Deep knowledge of UI/UX testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Extensive experience in API testing, including designing, automating, and executing tests for RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with healthcare software regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, FDA).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and mentor teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with AWS cloud-based testing environments.
  • Certification in test automation tools such as Tricentis Tosca, Selenium, or API testing tools.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and compliance requirements.
