Sr Computer Scientist

Our engineering team is responsible for Adobe Experience Platform that is uniquely poised to offer its services to build solutions to bring the delightful experience and intelligence in a far superior way which otherwise would not have been to manage and bring value to our customers. The Experience Platform provides state-of-the-art capabilities for data integration, data governance, advanced analytics, and machine learning services. We help our customers collect, manage, and synthesize petabytes of data with high fidelity and velocity. We help them make sense of that data, glean insights and run algorithms, so they can deliver delightful experiences in real-time, every time. 

Building a robust fault tolerant and highly available system at a very high scale while providing ease and convenience to disparate solutions and enterprise customer team is a key to our success. We use Big Data, Open-source technologies, and home-grown solutions to develop diverse services for Adobe Solutions, Customers and Partners. 

We support large enterprise products to support their customers spread across geographies. This requires disparate data sources and ingestion mechanism. The data must be made easily accessible at very low latency to support different scenarios and use cases. We are looking for strong candidates having deep expertise in building low latency services at very high scale. The candidates would be leading our path to accomplish our vision. 

What you will need to succeed 

• 8+ years in design and development of data driven large distributed systems 

• 3+ years as an architect building large scale data intensive distributed systems and services 

• Relevant experience of building application layer on top of Apache Spark 

• Strong experience in Hive SQL and Presto DB 

• Experience in leading architecture designs to approval while working with multiple stake holders, dependencies, and internal external customer requirements. 

• In depth work experience on open-source technologies like Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Kubernetes, etc. 

• Work experience on one or more big data technologies on public cloud – Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform 

• Experience with In-Memory distributed caches e.g. Redis, Memcached etc. 

• Great coding (design patterns) and design competencies setting up example for others to emulate. Contribution to open source is highly desirable. 

• Proficiency in data structures and algorithms 

• Cost consciousness around computation and memory requirements 

• Strong verbal and written communications skills 

• BTech/MTech/MS in Computer Science 

What you'll do 

• Lead the technical design and implementation strategy for major systems and components of the Adobe Experience Platform

• Evaluate, drive the architecture and technology choices for the major systems/components 

• Design, build and deploy the products with very high quality 

• Bring more innovation in the current system to bring more robustness, ease and convenience 

• Ability to articulate the design and code choices to cross functional teams 

• Ability to mentor and guide a high performing team 

• Reviewing and providing feedback on features, technology, architecture, design, time & budget estimates and test strategies 

• Creative problem solving 

• Developing and evolving engineering best practices to optimize team’s efficiency 

• Partner with other teams across Adobe for achieving common goals
