Introduction:
GlobalFoundries is looking for a highly motivated Sr Engineer Tapeout Engineering to work in the Global Tapeout and Mask Operations (GTMO) organization, based in Bengaluru. The successful candidate will work with 100% quality and Best in Class cycle time in mind. This role requires a close working relationship and collaboration with internal teams like Optical Proximity Correction (OPC), Frame, Tapeout Logistics and Integration (TLI), Global Shuttle Operations (GSO), Product Life Cycle Manufacturing (PLCM) etc., to provide exceptional tapeout services in the increasingly complex and competitive world of semiconductor wafer manufacturing.
Your Job:
- The roles and responsibilities will include engaging in daily tapeout operations such as Design Rule Checking (DRC), Mask Data Preparation, Validation of tapeout data, Releasing data for fracture and other activities.
- Collaborate with Global Tapeout Operations teams to develop and Implement methodologies to improve efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve cycle times.
- Solve complex technical problems and contribute to multiple projects at the same time.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ensure all processes align with industry standards and meet project timelines.
- To assist the management in the collection of tapeout metrics and KPIs monthly and help in developing action plans to address deviations from targets.
- Having decent scripting skills helps to automate tapeout process flows.
- Ability to debug problems with EDA tool runs and failures.
- Ability to learn and explore new technologies, opportunities, and continuous improvement.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
- Own and maintain tapeout FMEAs.
- Develop documentation of best practices & flow training material and conduct internal training as required.
- Available to work 40hrs a week in GF Bengaluru office and be flexible to cover Sun-Thu or Tue-Sat shift depends on management need.
Required Qualifications:
- Education - Master’s Degree (MS/MTech) with Specialization in Electrical (VLSI, Microelectronics and related) or Materials Science, Solid State Physics
- Years of Experience - New College Graduate
- Fluency in English Language - Verbal and Written
- Physical Capacity Demands - Available for full-time work throughout the year
Preferred Qualifications:
- Should be exceptionally good with LINUX commands, directory structure etc.
- Should be familiar with the use of LSF.
- Knowledge of Python, Shell, TCL and MySQL will be a plus.
- EDA (Electronic Design Automation) experience in Mentor Graphics Siemens / Synopsys / Cadence etc. will be a plus.
