Summarized Purpose:As a Senior IT Project Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will lead complex, enterprise-wide IT projects and programs, encouraging continuous improvement and innovation. You'll collaborate across functions to deliver strategic technology solutions that support our mission of promoting global health, environmental sustainability, and safety.
Education/Experience:- Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of IT project management experience, including large-scale enterprise implementations
- Preferred Fields of Study: Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required or preferred
- Agile/Scrum certifications (SAFe, CSM, etc.) preferred
- Manage intricate IT projects and programs on a large scale
- Apply both traditional and agile methodologies to manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resources across teams
- Cultivate positive relationships with business collaborators, vendors, and technical teams
- Ensure successful project delivery while maintaining compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Cultivate a culture of constant improvement and ingenuity in project management approaches
- Manage distributed teams and external vendors
- Deliver projects within scope, timeline, and budget constraints
- Perform risk management and issue resolution
- Build and manage project budget and forecasts
- Proficient knowledge in project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and Waterfall
- Experience with project/portfolio management tools (MS Project, Planview, Jira, etc.)
- Demonstrated success managing complex technical projects in regulated environments (GxP, SOX, HIPAA, etc.)
- Outstanding financial foresight and proficiency in budget management
- Demonstrated ability to guide and collaborate across multiple teams and organizational levels
- Strong communication and presentation skills, demonstrated in written and verbal forms
- Impressive communication and presentation expertise, facilitating influence among different levels and functions
- Proficiency with MS Office suite and project management software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good judgement in complex or ambiguous situations
- Demonstrated ownership and dedication to achieving project and organizational goals
- Motivates, empowers, and develops teams through trust and collaboration
- Solid business insight — links project results to overall business strategy and customer value
- Knowledge of change management principles and methodologies
