Your roleJob duties
To perform the Lead Designer role, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- To be part of Atkins Middle East delivery team.
- To Liaise with the Lead Project Offices (LPOs) and the GTC Multi Discipline team.
- To assist in delivering a range of projects related to Infrastructure utilities design and planning.
- Knowledge of multidisciplinary projects to comply with the relevant CAD/BIM Standards
- Develop project deliverables, particularly drawings and reports in accordance with client scope, budget, and quality requirements
Skills
- 8 -10 years in AutoCAD Civil 3D, detailing experience involving work associated with MV, LV, Street lighting, Telecom, ICT, Gravity and Pressure networks.
- Extensive experience of detailing Dry and Wet infrastructure utilities.
- Coordination with subconsultants and Design Engineers.
- Prepare and Check Drawings (Layouts, Long Sections, Schedules, Typical drawings)
- Evaluate engineering alternatives and resolve technical issues.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost effective and compliant manner.
- Review and prepare preliminary sketches/drawings etc. as per the markup provided by the Engineers.
- Create, edit, and label alignments, Civil 3D parcels, and corridors.
- Create feature lines and surfaces.
- Prepare and check plan and profiles of utilities including creation of pipe networks, editing, and changing parts and styles (Catch basins/Manholes Fire Hydrants etc).
- To support in utility Clash resolution activities (Navisworks/Civil 3D/Revit).
- Ability to adapt to different cultures and working environments.
- Experience of using written and spoken English within a business environment.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate on assigned tasks with the multi-Discipline teams.
Education and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline with 5+ years experience in modelling and design experience.
