Sr. Manager Software Engineering

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to join the Procore Maps & Location team. In this role, you will lead the team responsible for design, development, and support of location-aware experiences within Procore products. Your work will positively impact the entire spectrum of construction operations from tracking progress by location, communicating logistics, to managing resources within a map-based experience. You will improve the life of construction workers and contractors by enabling complex workflows and processes into simple and intuitive location-based experiences on mobile and web interfaces.

The position is for the Bangalore location. We’re looking for someone to join our team immediately. 

What you’ll do:

• Own overall engineering strategy and delivery of Procore’s Spatial location module
• Collaborate with senior Product Managers, Architects, UX and business leaders to own and execute a spatially aware experiences across Procore Products
• Lead engineers and create a robust and functional group within the Engineering organization that delivers highly scalable, performant, available, and secure solutions
• Collaborate with product leadership to make pragmatic trade-offs on staffing and prioritizing initiatives
• Align with senior engineering and technical leaders on org-wide initiatives that are both technical and cultural in nature

What we’re looking for:

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, including 4+ years of experience managing software engineering teams
• 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with an emphasis on web-based distributed services
• Experience designing and leading medium-scale Engineering organizations that deliver critical projects and services, including strong uptime requirements
• You have expertise in full-stack software development, modern object-oriented languages (e.g. Java, Ruby, Typescript), and frameworks (e.g. React, Node.js, next.js, Rails).
• Ability to represent and promote complex business or technical architectural concepts both internally and externally
• Demonstrated history of building strong cross-functional relationships that foster deep engagements. Organizational savvy to navigate and manage ambiguous and complex scenarios
• Passionate about solving the problems for the construction industry. Previous experience in the construction domain or geospatial area will be a huge plus.
