The Unified Communications team has a mission to become the leader in creating a highly scalable software platform and communication applications for first responders and industrial workgroups. Our customers rely on these solutions to run their critical business operations in the public safety, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors. The products include client apps on Android, iOS, and Windows. Our software can be deployed On-Prem, in private data centers, or in a public cloud infrastructure. You will be part of a team that is responsible for the security of these mission critical systems that are used every day by public safety and government agencies across multiple countries. In this role, you will also be working in a world-class team that uses state of the art technologies and techniques. Your efforts will help to shape engineering culture and standards across our software product organization.

Job Description:

Unified Communications group is seeking a strong Sr Security Engineer to help us develop, deploy and manage cybersecurity components that protect our SaaS Infrastructure running in Datacenter,Azure and AWS.  Posting is open to remote work but preference will be given to candidates close to Allen,Texas

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for defining and implementing the deployment and monitoring standards for the Cloud and Data Center deployments;

• Member of the team responsible for  identifying potential information and network or internet security vulnerabilities and deploying security components such as Web Application Firewall, Antivirus, Cloud Workload Protection and SOAR tools.  

• Maintaining security components mentioned above across the number of datacenter and  cloud environments.

• Maintenance and review of platform operational security configuration, including WAF rules, IDS/IPS settings, NSG settings, and security controls over the entirety of the infrastructure.

• Stay abreast of technology evolution and conducts analysis, investigates and recommends security technologies including managed security services, firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection, VPN and solutions for incorporation into product/services

• Develop tools for automated self verification of security functions.

• Implement automated tools to support automated Inventory, identification of configuration changes, security alerting, CVE Tracking, and associated dashboards. 

• Support compliance assessments to various industry best practices and standards such as FedRAMP, CJIS, NIST, OWASP, GDPR, ISO, SOC 2, etc. 

• Collaborate on SIEM Detection rules.

• Collaborate with the Threat Management team during critical incidents to aid in remediation. 

• Oversee the company’s security, backup, and redundancy strategies;

Basic Requirements

.Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or similar is preferred.

• Citizen of the United States (US) and residing on US soil.

• 3+ years of experience in the following: software development & deployment in virtualized environments, security engineering, data engineering, SIEM platforms,SecOps, and Linux system administration experience.

• Good interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with a variety of work partners.

• Experience building and deploying On premise and cloud applications and tools.

• Solid experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments;

• Strong familiarity with cloud technologies primarily Azure and AWS.

• Strong scripting experience with Shell Scripts, Powershell and Python.

• Strong familiarity with the functions of WAF and IDS/IPS components.

• Hands-on experience with using Splunk and Elasticsearch

• Familiarity with Red Hat Openshift is preferred

• Must be familiar with cloud security best practices.

• Experience with Azure and AWS Security controls. 

• Must be familiar with tools used to secure docker/podman deployments such as Sentinalone

• Familiarity with CIS benchmarks including the Docker/podman, Linux benchmarks would be a plus.

• Excellent knowledge of networking technologies, particularly with OSI network layers and TCP/IP;

• CISM, CISSP or other Security Certifications preferred
