About the team

The Telephony Platform team maintains a complex set of APIs and microservices that provide the backbone for real-time communications in Dialpad’s products. The team provides a reliable API for audio/video calling, text messaging, phone number management, spam detection and more. It is key to creating a stable and performant experience for a large volume of concurrent users. The Telephony Ops team is responsible for the operational stability of the Telephony Platform’s production systems. We work with engineers in the Telephony and Infrastructure teams to ensure the uptime and reliability of the Telephony Platform.

Your role

As a Sr Software Engineer on the Telephony Ops team with 6+ years of experience, you’ll use your experience with high scale production systems to own various facets of uptime from ensuring smooth deployments to building tools that improve stability to debugging and monitoring of the Telephony platform.

What you’ll do

  • Use a solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design to write software  for deployment, debugging and monitoring of the Telephony Platform.
  • Use your demonstrated experience in large production backend systems to strategize and implement approaches to discover production errors, performance degradation and fraudulent behavior.
  • Partner with engineers across the globe in the Telephony and Infrastructure teams  to resolve identified issues.
  • Build tools to ensure the capacity of our cloud and bare metal servers.
  • Use your communication skills to translate deeply technical concepts involving the state of the production systems to stakeholders outside of the Telephony team.
  • Mentor other engineers on team best practices.
