Sr. Software Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced software engineer to drive the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role will play a key part in shaping our technical architecture and ensuring the effective execution of software development initiatives.

As ​a key member of the technical team you’re given the unique opportunity to drive the next generation of data platform initiatives in a global SaaS infrastructure. Backed by the might of our teams, we’ll provide you with the tools and resources needed to achieve extraordinary results that render a significant impact extending beyond the boundaries of traditional engineering roles.

This position will report to our Sr. Manager, Software Engineering

What you’ll do:

• Leverage our tech stack to build innovative solutions for the construction industry.

• Develop and operate our critical construction data/reporting services within the construction intelligence division. This role requires attention to software development best practices, operational excellence and the highest standards in quality.

• Drive critical projects, including: 

  • Complex data/reporting platform/systems: We’re building a world-class data management system from the ground up. You’ll work through challenges like data management, data security, and data consumption through APIs.

  • Scalability: We’re scaling and need engineers who are ready to take on the challenge of working on live, core systems with thousands of users

  • Participate in designing and building a system that is aligned with Procore’s technical vision of a Service-Oriented Architecture

  • Build, maintain, and develop a wide series of microservices and are looking for engineers adept at discovering new opportunities and driving them to completion.
    

What we're looking for: 

• B.Tech/B.E/M.Tech/M.E/MCA/MSc degree in Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of combined experience as a Software Engineer with an emphasis on building scalable backend web-based services and related infrastructure

• Experience working within global technical teams

• Ability to evaluate current technical approaches to solving problems

• Experience working collaboratively with teams, providing mentorship and guidance to improve the overall reliability of the ecosystem

• Understanding the tradeoffs between short-term and long-term goals and balancing immediate needs with strategic initiatives

• Experience in the following technologies, with demonstrated expertise and the capacity to lead complex technical initiatives in architecture and design systems:

• Service design and scalable deployment in cloud-based software development

• Kubernetes, Kafka and related web infrastructure technologies

• Proven experience with Java, Python, Typescript, Node.js, & React

• Experience with modern web development across the entire spectrum of development, testing, staging, deploying, and monitoring

• Familiarity with API best practices data management

• Experience documenting and bringing team clarity to complex solutions

• Experience in working with software, platforms, and infrastructure at scale 

• Familiarity with additional tech stacks, languages, etc. are a plus
