Job Description

The SoC-Based Field Application Engineer (FAE) will serve as a technical liaison between the Renesas and customers, focusing on the support and integration of SoC solutions in various applications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in semiconductor technologies, particularly in SoC design and implementation, and demonstrate the ability to work closely with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions and able to debug the issues on the customer board and provide the solution to resolve the issue remotely or onsite.


Key Responsibilities: 

Technical Support: Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers, focusing on SoC-based solutions. Address technical inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and offer recommendations for optimal use of products and help to propose complete winning combo to the customer.

Solution Development Support: Work closely with customers to understand their specific requirements and assist in the design and integration of SoC solutions into their products. Provide guidance on best practices and help to optimize performance. 

Customer Training: Conduct technical training sessions for customers, demonstrating how to effectively use Renesas SoC products. Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and application notes. 

Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to align customer needs with product offerings. Provide feedback to the BU team on customer requirements and potential product improvements. 

Design Assistance: Assist customers in the evaluation and design of SoC systems, including schematic reviews, PCB layout recommendations, and firmware development. 

Field Visits: Perform on-site visits to customer locations to provide hands-on support and ensure successful integration of SoC solutions. Support on the onsite training to the customer.

Prototyping and Testing: Aid in the development and testing of prototypes, helping customers to quickly bring their products to market. Offer debugging support and performance tuning as needed. 

Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in the semiconductor industry, particularly in SoC technologies, to provide the most current advice and solutions to customers. 

Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, acting as a trusted technical advisor and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Follow-up for the Design-in with Renesas parts including SoC 


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. 

Experience: 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with a focus on SoC solutions. Experience in a customer-facing technical role in automotive is an added advantage. 


Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SoC architecture, design, and implementation.

  • Experience on the device drivers, Android, Linux, QNX, RTOS, basically multiple operating systems on SoC.

Soft Skills: 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-oriented approach. 

  • Willingness to travel as needed to support customers. 


Preferred Qualifications as an advantage: 

  • Experience with specific SoC platforms or products relevant to the company’s portfolio. 

  • Familiarity with signal processing, power management, and wireless communication protocols. 

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the semiconductor industry (preferably automotive customers or application).
