About the team:
JioHotstar's world-record-breaking OTT platform is available in India, the international market. We are home to India's largest entertainment content catalog for the Indian diaspora in the UK. We are hiring senior engineers for our UK and international teams to develop systems that drive business growth in the country. This is a unique opportunity to work across the JioHotstar tech stack and work on the most impactful projects. You will contribute to the common stack, build frameworks to offer geography-specific differentiated features and create subscriber and business growth platform for the company.
Key responsibilities:
- Influence the development of individual features and products, introducing best practices and patterns for the Android engineering lifecycle
- Take ownership of initiatives to scale mobile app development across Engineering, offering insights to refine processes and tools for better support to additional contributors
- Lead feature development for acclaimed apps designed for smartphones and tablets
- Ensure end-to-end product quality, from the development phase to maintenance of core app frameworks, enhancing reliability and user experience
- Spearhead the creation of prototypes for innovative concepts, staying updated with the latest advancements in mobile technology
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cutting-edge technologies and solutions into mobile applications
- Stay updated with emerging trends and practices in the mobile app development space to continuously enhance product offerings
Skills and attributes for success:
- Hands-on experience in building mobile applications and mobility solutions, including native applications
- Expertise in UI components & controls such as Action Bars, Widgets, and Fragments
- Proficiency in fundamental components of Android: Activity, Services, Intent, Broadcast Receiver, and Content Provider
- Solid working experience with Web Service Integration (REST, JSON, XML) and cloud technologies like AWS, GAE, and GCM
- Comprehensive knowledge of various mobility areas including Enterprise mobility and mobile applications across domains like Retail, VAS, Media, BFSI, Healthcare, Social Networking, and E-commerce
- Experience with analytics, location, and social APIs, as well as MDM, payment gateway, SMS gateway, media content transcoding, cloud integration, and APM tools
Preferred education and experience:
- Master's/Bachelors in Computer Science or related field with 9+ years of hands-on experience in Mobile Development.
