As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at JazzX AI, you will operate as a principal technical owner of the platform’s most critical architectural foundations. This is a highly hands-on, senior individual contributor role with company-wide technical influence.
You will lead the design and evolution of core platform systems, shape long-term technical strategy, and drive execution across multiple teams and domains. Your work will directly influence:
- The long-term architecture of JazzX’s AI-native SaaS + PaaS platform
- How AI capabilities are safely, reliably, and audibly operationalized at scale
- Platform reliability, performance, security, and developer experience
- Engineering standards, architectural principles, and technical decision-making across the organization
This role is for engineers who think in systems, operate with extreme ownership, and enjoy solving ambiguous, high-impact problems at platform scale.
What You Will Do1. Platform & System Architecture- Define and evolve the end-to-end architecture for core platform services that power JazzX’s AI-native enterprise system.
- Own architectural decisions across distributed systems, service orchestration, data flows, and platform extensibility.
- Ensure designs balance scalability, reliability, security, privacy, and operational excellence.
- Drive architectural reviews, RFCs, and long-term technical planning across teams.
- Lead the design of enterprise workflows involving multiple services, teams, and human/system interactions
- Use process modeling techniques (e.g., BPMN or equivalent) to clarify flows, ownership, failure paths, and execution semantics
- Set technical direction for cloud-native architecture across compute, storage, networking, and deployment models.
- Champion cloud-first, cloud-agnostic patterns and infrastructure best practices.
- Guide containerization, orchestration, and Infrastructure-as-Code standards.
- Partner closely with SRE, DevOps, and Security teams to build resilient, observable, and cost-efficient systems.
- Design and build foundational APIs, frameworks, and abstractions that enable application and AI engineers to move fast without compromising correctness or safety.
- Establish platform contracts, service boundaries, and internal standards for extensibility and reuse.
- Ensure platform components are modular, composable, and well-documented.
- Act as a force multiplier for engineering velocity across the organization.
- Own production readiness for mission-critical platform components, including availability, latency, scalability, and fault isolation.
- Define and enforce SLAs, SLOs, and reliability standards.
- Drive best practices around observability, distributed tracing, alerting, and incident response.
- Continuously improve operational maturity as the platform scales.
- Serve as a senior technical leader influencing platform direction through execution, not hierarchy.
- Mentor Staff and Senior engineers, raising the bar for systems thinking, design quality, and technical rigor.
- Collaborate deeply with AI research, product, security, and design teams to translate complex requirements into robust platform capabilities.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to senior engineering and product leadership.
- 12+ years of experience designing, building, and operating large-scale, production-grade software systems.
- Proven track record of owning and evolving complex distributed systems or platform architectures.
- Deep expertise in cloud-native systems, service-oriented design, and distributed architectures.
- Strong hands-on experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern cloud platforms.
- Expert-level understanding of software design principles, clean code practices, and system-level trade-offs.
- Strong proficiency in Python, with deep experience in at least one of: Java -Primary , Go, or JavaScript.
- Demonstrated ownership across the full SDLC: design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
- Ability to make sound architectural decisions under ambiguity and evolving requirements.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of observability stacks, metrics, logging, and distributed tracing.
- Experience with event-driven systems, streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka), and both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with enterprise security, access control, and compliance considerations.
- Experience designing and implementing cross-system workflows (order processing, onboarding, approvals, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with BPMN-based or workflow-driven systems
- Experience building or operating platforms that support AI/ML or data-intensive workloads.
- Exposure to MLOps, AI service deployment, or AI-adjacent infrastructure.
- Experience integrating modern AI systems (LLMs, agents, retrieval, evaluation pipelines) into production platforms is a strong plus.
