SSDE I - Data Engineer, JioCinema

Data Engineering team responsibilities:

• Build data pipelines for data ingestion from various data sources
• Build transformation services to create master data
• Make data available to all stakeholders in efficient, quick and retrievable manner
• Set up highly scalable, accurate, clean and real time events collection system/applications as per business or product requirement like live voting in a live event
• Assist Data Science team to deploy their models at scale and wire it up with other user services assistance, challenge/support the business decision with the help of data

What you will do:

• To improve existing system/service with latest technology and engineering standards
• To discuss and raise ideas, concerns, questions with confidence and do research
• To be actively involved in uplifting team productivity and knowledge
• Do a deep dive of impact on projects from user, product and business perspective
• On-time delivery, maintaining the standard of quality with pre-agreed estimations
• Own the services and work towards it's betterment
• Keep the documentations up to date for readme, API contracts, architecture diagrams and other relevant documents for all the projects
• Own complete development lifecycle from ideation to deployment
• Work towards the common goal by efficiently coordination with cross functional teams
• Build POC, architecture, tradeoffs for new services and migrations
• Write blogs, articles to help team members and community
• Breakdown high level architecture into services, tasks to help the team to achieve it
•  Run successful sprints with improved efficiency
• Learn and share new trends in technology, engineering, and productivity
• Improve team productivity and knowledge

Who should Apply:

• 4 to 7 years of experience in a Data Engineering role.
• Complete understanding of request response cycles, deployment strategies, profiling, debugging and sound knowledge of data architecture
• Knowledge of orchestration tools like airflow / oozie
• Strong knowledge of OOP's and SOLID principles in more than one programming languages preferably Java, Go, Scala, Python
• Hands-on experience in RDBMS, NoSql, Analytics databases preferably Redis and Bigquery Hands-on experience on streaming platforms like Kafka / Kinesis
• Should have been part of building/breaking scalable systems
• Deep understanding of Cloud platform preferably GCP
• In depth understanding Data warehousing in BigQuery, Data Lake in GCS (Google Cloud Storage), Spark Runtime in Dataproc
• Visualization tools like Superset, LookerStudio etc
