Digital IC Design at ADI:
ADI has long been considered the industry leader in high performance analog/mixed signal semiconductors, and we specialize in bridging the real word to the digital world: what is increasingly referred to by the technical community as “the edge”. Our Digital Design engineers are responsible for developing digital designs that will meet all specifications, work flawlessly in a product team’s system and be optimally manufacturable and testable.
Position Overview:
As ADI continues to grow its capability in edge processing technology, we have the need for a Staff Digital Design Engineer that will work with a multi-functional engineering team to design, develop, and productize a range of block, subsystem, and system solutions for digital processing subsystems. You will be intimately involved in pushing the envelope of our edge processing capability as we embrace agile development techniques. You will help implement best SoC development practices and improve design methodology to maximize efficiency and predictability of our subsystems. Our development team is disbursed around the globe, so you will be able to work from any of our exisitng ADI locations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to small teams of Micro-architects/RTL developers working on an SoC
- Work closely with the architecture team to develop detailed development plan
- Participate in design specification, micro architecture and verification sign off reviews.
- Work closely with the verification team for complex debugs to resolve verification failures.
- Improve flows and methodologies to streamline IP development and integration
- Execute personnel management responsibilities such a quarterly review, career counseling and staff planning
- Build (including recruiting and interviewing) development teams
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience leading chip architecture and/or digital design
- Strong engineering background in embedded system design including ASIC microarchitecture, computer architecture, SoC architecture, and custom or standard DSP or hardware accelerator microarchitecture.
- Experience in FPGA emulation system design preferred, including leading pre-silicon system validation, prototype bring-up, debug, validation, characterization, and module integration support
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid teamwork and leadership skills.
- Deep understanding of both SoC design flow and embedded software development processes
- Must have experience working with geographically disbursed design teams
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, with 10+ years of experience.
- Experience with silicon and software product development and understanding the product development lifecycle
- Detailed knowledge of ARM and/or RISC-V processor subsystem architectures, on chip interconnects, and advanced debug and trace
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both a technical and non-technical audience, with the ability to clearly articulate the teams’ mission
- Able to function as a member of a team and share knowledge
