Role and Responsibilities:

  • Solve challenging mechanical design problems relating to Bloom’s fuel cell products for ensuring structural integrity and reliability
  • Use finite element analysis tools along with first principle calculations to support design and development from concept to product release stages
  • Identify product improvements based on in-depth analysis of field performance data as well as manufacturing processes
  • Work with cross functional teams to optimize the product design and communicate modeling results regularly
  • Invent ways and means for solving problems quickly and propose engineering solutions
  • Participation in testing for validation of modeling results

Skills and Experience:

  • MS or M.Tech in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with background on Finite Element Analysis
  • 4-6 years of experience in Hypermesh for geometry cleanup and 2-D/3-D grid generation
  • At least 2-3 years of experience with FEA tool – ANSYS or ABAQUS; ABAQUS preferred.
  • A strong understanding of the fundamentals of strength of materials and structural analysis
  • High temperature material application is a plus
  • Good understanding of stress concentration locations and reentrant corners
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects and meet deliverable deadlines amidst changing requirements, deadlines and priorities
