Job Title: Staff Platform Engineer – Network Solution

Location: Bangalore-Manyata Tech Park (Hybrid)

Business & Team

The Network Design team supports the Group wide commitment to delivering world-class software tools that optimize processes and increase efficiencies across our technologies. Focused on ensuring maximum leverage of our existing capability, we deliver robust, cost-effective solutions, that drive improvements in efficiency, security, resilience and usability. Beyond Design and Engineering, the team have a number of specializations, providing design authority over a range of networking disciplines around Cloud, Network Automation and Core network architecture, leading to better technology tools and platforms to deliver better customer experiences and outcomes.

Impact & contribution

As a Staff Platform Engineer – Network Solution, you will be focused on Network Architecture & Design, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing and implementing Network solutions for CBA’s network elements such as Firewalls, Switches and other Network Assets. You will collaborate closely with our Product owner and Chapter Lead to create robust, scalable and secure Design.

Your wider team consists of multiple squads in the Engineering disciplines of Network Security, Partner Connectivity, Workload Connectivity, Software Defined Network, Cloud Networking, Network Automation and Workforce Connectivity.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Document processes, configurations, and workflows related to network solutions.

  • Design, engineer, and implement network security to provide business value across multiple programs and initiatives.

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with network security designs or solution proposals.

  • Provide technical consulting and advice to ensure alignment with Cyber Security, Network Architecture, and operational stability of CBA’s network assets.

  • Apply engineering principles, patterns, standards, and guidelines across projects and programs.

  • Support the transition from current to target architecture.

  • Evaluate and provide feedback on the effectiveness of target solution architecture.

  • Collaborate within a team environment and across business units to complete tasks.

  • Produce high-quality, sustainable solutions that meet business requirements, leveraging approved delivery frameworks.

Essential Skills

  • 12 to 16 years of experience in network engineering and design, with 2+ years in a DevOps environment.

  • Proven ability to manage escalation of technical issues from suppliers, operations, and application teams.

  • Skilled in developing implementation plans and configuring network security changes.

  • Experience in supporting execution of changes outside regular business hours.

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Switches (Nexus and IOS), Routers, and Firewalls.

  • Desirable experience with F5 LTM and DNS VMWare NSX, and Azure/AWS network security group enforcement policies and firewall management.

  • Proficient in discovery and validation of network performance requirements using enterprise tools such as Algosec, vRealise Network Insight, Splunk, Azure VSTS, AWS VPC flow logs, R53, Cloud redirect and CloudFront, SolarWinds, Qualys, and Infoblox.

  • Experience in designing and deploying SD-WAN solutions across Palo Alto, Check Point, and Cisco.

  • Knowledge of Zero Trust Network Access and the SASE model.

Expertise in designing core switching and routing technologies such as VXLAN, VPN, BGP, EIGRP, IPSEC, and OSPF. Understanding of corporate technology processes, e.g., ITIL.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree/master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
