Role
We are looking for a Staff Software Development Engineer to join our Engineering department. This is a hybrid role based in Bangalore, reporting to the Sr. Director, Software Engineering.
As a DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for managing development and infrastructure demands. Additional responsibilities for this role include deploying systems and supporting peer developers.
What you’ll do (Role Expectations)
- Provisioning Zscaler services on public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) using Kubernetes, helm and terraform
- Ensuring security compliance of service deployment
- Working with the team to control costs and optimize cloud utilization
- Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Advocating and guiding Software Engineers in adopting DevOps philosophy

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- 5+ years of experience with an Engineering or Computer Science degree, specializing in hosting 24x7 services on public cloud platforms like AWS (preferred), GCP, or Azure
- Automation and orchestration experience using relevant technologies (e.g. Terraform, Cloudformation, Ansible, etc.)
- Skilled in managing Kubernetes clusters and proficient with CI/CD tools like Bamboo and Jenkins
- Proficient in Databases and SQL (preferably Postgres) with experience in cloud architecture components like message queuing, in-memory caches, and load balancing
- Familiarity with logging and monitoring technologies such as prometheus, Grafana end ELK Stack
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Understanding of TCP/IP protocol stack, HTTP, TLS, PKI and other related protocols and products (DNS, DHCP, VPN, HA, routing and switching)
- Understanding of security technologies like firewall, IPS, Authentication,VPN
