Position Overview
Diligent Corporation IT Operations team is looking for a staff-level Systems Engineer to join its global Infrastructure group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, optimize, and automate private cloud infrastructure systems to ensure high availability and performance.
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient operations.
- Respond to and fulfil service requests received through incoming support tickets.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Over 7 years of experience as a Staff System Engineer, with a strong focus on infrastructure management.
- Expertise in VMware virtualization technologies, with a deep understanding of their deployment and maintenance.
- Comprehensive knowledge of network concepts, including firewalls, routing, switching, and VPN configurations.
- Experience working with enterprise-level technology and distributed systems.
- Proficient in both Linux and Windows server administration.
- Advanced experience with storage systems, including SAN arrays, multi-pathing, and object storage solutions.
- Skilled in optimizing and troubleshooting both Linux and Windows servers.
- In-depth understanding of packet analysis and TCP/IP fundamentals.
- Ability to maintain and manage both physical and virtual servers across distributed environments.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools such as PowerShell, Ansible, and PowerCLI.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working with databases like MSSQL or MongoDB.
- Experience with datacentre colo, physical server management, and out-of-band management.
- Familiarity with implementing and integrating open-source technologies.
- Advanced understanding of PKI, security protocols, and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in Active Directory management.
- Experience with Windows clustering technologies.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field
