- Develop custom test applications for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) environments.
- Configure and maintain VeriStand real-time test environments, including integration with Simulink models and hardware components.
- Write and maintain software modules in Python and C/C++ to interface with instrumentation, automation frameworks, and embedded systems.
- Interface with hardware components such as NI PXI systems, cRIO, DAQs, and other industrial I/O hardware.
- Support integration and troubleshooting of test systems involving embedded controllers, sensors, and communication interfaces.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, embedded, systems) to define test requirements and coverage strategies.
- Develop and maintain documentation including test specifications, software architecture, and user manuals.
- Participate in code reviews and follow best practices for version control, modular design, and test-driven development.
- Support the wider software team in developing custom test software outside the real-time environment, including desktop tools, data pipelines, test management utilities, and backend services.
Required Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of hands-on experience developing test systems using NI tools (LabVIEW, VeriStand, TestStand).
- Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++.
- Working proficiency in at least one additional general-purpose language such as Rust, Go, C#, or Java, and the ability to pick up new languages as project needs require.
- Proficiency with LabVIEW (preferably at CLD or higher level).

- Experience using Python for test automation, data parsing, or integrating with external systems.
- Development experience in C/C++ for embedded or test applications.
- Experience with TestStand for test sequence management and report generation.
- Familiarity with model-based testing (e.g., Simulink, FMUs, or co-simulation tools).
- Version control tools such as Git, SVN, or Perforce.
- Exposure to CI/CD practices in a test environment (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo).
- Experience building non-real-time test applications, such as GUIs, data logging and analysis tools, or REST/gRPC-based services that interface with lab infrastructure.
- Familiarity with modern build and packaging tooling (e.g., Cargo, CMake, Poetry) and cross-platform development on Linux and Windows.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Effective communicator with cross-disciplinary teams.
- Self-motivated and able to manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality and reliability.
What You’ll Gain
- Exposure to real-world avionics software development practices and documentation standards.
- Hands-on experience with automation and internal tooling.
- Mentorship from experienced software and embedded engineers.
- Opportunity to contribute to projects that support safety and innovation in aviation.
