As a Tax Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring Amartha’s compliance with all tax regulations while optimizing our tax strategies. You will oversee tax planning, reporting, and compliance processes, working closely with internal stakeholders and external tax authorities to minimize risks and support business growth.
In this role, you will manage the preparation and submission of accurate and timely tax returns, implement strategies to optimize tax efficiency, and advise leadership on the implications of tax regulations on business decisions. Your expertise will ensure that Amartha remains compliant with local and international tax laws while maximizing financial performance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough tax analysis to provide expert advice on tax planning and optimization opportunities, ensuring full compliance with local regulations.
- Coordinate and manage tax audits, inquiries, and notices from tax authorities, acting as the primary point of contact.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to tax filings, provisions, and all other tax-related activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure alignment and coordination on tax matters.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on financial issues, including the tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
- Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations, proactively identifying potential risks or opportunities for the organization.
- Foster a culture of tax compliance and awareness across the organization by providing training and support as necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in tax management, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- In-depth knowledge of tax planning strategies, with proven experience in managing indirect taxes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
