Job Profile Summary
The Tax Specialist works with Team Lead, Consultants and Mangers in India and US to manage data extraction project from the invoices, identify & enter sales tax information from invoices to an access or excel database. Format, perform a thorough review and reconcile the data with source data from the client.
Duties and Responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results
People:
- Create a positive team experience
- Review work done by Tax Associates and Senior Tax Associates.
Client:
- Proactive work status update to US / India liaison
- Downloading & extracting invoices from client networks.
Value
- Plan work allocation and manage projects on a day to day basis
- Identifying and entering Tax paid details form the invoices into a database
- Reconcile the values from different data sources
- Prepare reports as per the requirements from consultants
- Analyze data from invoices and submit a summary report
- Performs quality assurance as required
- Helps prepare documentation and assists training new hires.
Education and Experience:
- Any bachelor’s degree
- 4-6 years of experience.
Skills:
To perform the job successfully, the candidate should have a intermediate understanding of Tax and accounting concepts and excellent analytical & problem solving abilities. High attention to detail, ability to meet strict deadlines and good communications is critical. In-depth knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, Internet navigation and research is preferred. Ability to perform quality assurance review, prepare procedural documents and metrics as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
- Current work hours are 2.00 PM to 11.00 PM, IST. Shift change is anticipated depending on US work hours/time zone and business need.
- Candidate should be willing to work on any shift.
- A reasonable amount of overtime will be required during peak season.
- Standard indoor working environment.
- Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
- Position requires regular interaction with employees in India and US both via e-mail and telephone.
