As a Performance Engineer, you will troubleshoot performance issues, develop automated solutions, mentor team members, and prepare performance test reports.

- Seeking an astute individual that has a strong technical foundation with ability to be hands-on with the broader engineering team as part of the development/deployment cycle, and knowledge of industry best practices, with the ability to implement them working with both the platform, and the product teams.
Scope:
- As Performance Engineer, Troubleshoot Performance issues arising from the Commerce products by analysing the available data and find the Root cause of the problem. Adhere to the Product Support SLA’s in handling the Tickets. (Response and Resolution SLA’s). Develop strategy and Certify the Lower and Prod environments from Performance perspective for new installs and upgrades. Create tools and Utilities to automate key processes. Develop possible solution themselves and on situations work closely with Product Engineering team members and provide updates to L1/customers/Implementation teams. Work to improve the Customer Knowledge base with technical articles. Prepare weekly reports summarizing Reported cases, troubleshooting guides etc. Suggest overall product improvements including new enhancements. Proactively evaluate Internal/engineering/Implementation processes and provide recommendations to increase overall efficiency.
Current technical environment:
- Software/Tools: Java, SpringBoot, Groovy, GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Codacy, GitHub Advance Security, Black Duck Hub, BlazeMeter, Artifactory, Ansible, Docker, etc.
- Application Architecture: Scalable, Resilient, event driven, secure multi-tenant Microservices architecture
- Cloud Architecture: MS Azure (ARM templates, AKS, Virtue Networks, Event Hub, Azure AD)
- Frameworks/Others: Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spark, NOSQL, RDBMS, Spring Boot, Snowflake
What you’ll do:
- As a Performance Engineer, you serve as a specialist in the engineering team that supports the team with following responsibilities.
- Participate in design and development of skeleton/stub components for the successful integration tests.
- Develop automation utilities and scripts that help to automate mundane tasks.
- Participate in status meetings with Project stakeholders on need basis.
- Gather and validate the NFR’s shared by customers/stakeholders.
- Mentor the team members on Performance test activities as the need arises.
- Analyse the Performance test runs and report defects and share the findings. Prepare and review Performance Test reports
What we are looking for:
Must Have:
- 3-5 years of experience as Performance Tester/Engineer on Java based application deployed on-prem/on-cloud with expertise in JMeter as automation tool.
- Understanding of metrics needed performance certification of a Java application
- Understanding of Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs)
- Linux perf commands & Shell scripting
- Telegraph, Influx, Grafana for Application monitoring.
- Ubuntu OS.
- Thread Dump analysis, GC logs analysis, Heap dump analysis.
- A strong and innovative approach to problem-solving and finding solutions
- Excellent communicator (written and verbal, formal and informal)
- Flexible and proactive/self-motivated working style with strong personal ownership and problem resolution
- Ability to multi-task under pressure and work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to prioritize under pressure
- Ability to learn on the job and apply the knowledge to achieve results.
Good To Have:
- Java and Data structures
- SQL knowledge.
- Understanding of REST API’s
- Experience working/administering Azure or any other cloud service provider
- Hazelcast or any IMDG ( In Memory Data grid) or REDIS, (Nice to have)
- Python/R Kafka for data analysis
- Understanding of Microservices architecture
- Ecommerce and Retailer domain understanding
- Cassandra or any NOSQL DB, ( Mongo DB)
- Understanding of Kubernetes architecture and administration.
