Job Description
The Project Manager in GITS [Global IT Services] is responsible for leading, coordinating, and motivating multiple Agile teams to deliver high-quality products or services that provide exceptional business value, adhering to Agile principles and practices. This role focuses on facilitation, communication, and adaptability over rigid, up-front planning.
Key Responsibilities
The core duties of a Project Manager revolve around supporting the team, managing the project lifecycle, hiring and engaging stakeholders:
Project Planning and Execution:
Work with Solution consultants and architects to understand project scope, goals, and deliverables.
Develop and manage project timelines and resource allocation.
Ensure the team follows Agile principles (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, or a hybrid approach) and best practices.
Facilitation and Team Support:
Organize and facilitate Agile ceremonies (e.g., Daily Stand-ups/Scrums, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives).
Act as a servant leader to coach, mentor, and empower the development team to be self-organizing.
Proactively identify, remove, and escalate impediments/blockers that impact team performance and productivity.
Stakeholder and Communication Management:
Maintain clear, transparent, and timely communication with stakeholders, the Product Owner, and the development team.
Manage stakeholder expectations for project deliverables and progress.
Provide regular updates and reports on project status, progress metrics (e.g., burndown charts), risks, and issues.
Risk and Quality Management:
Identify, assess, and develop mitigation strategies for potential project risks and issues.
Monitor the development process to ensure quality standards and the Definition of Done are met.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing team performance metrics and implementing changes based on retrospective feedback.
Required Skills & Qualifications
A successful Project Manager blends traditional project management knowledge with an Agile mindset.
Core Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Business, or Project Management).
5 to 6 years of experience as a Project Manager, Scrum Master, or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
Proficiency with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira).
Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Agile certifications are highly desirable (e.g., Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or SAFe Agilist).
