We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Engineer to support enterprise technology projects and drive automation of Oracle DBA operations using modern DevOps and automation tools. The role involves managing complex database environments, working across multiple projects, and ensuring high availability, performance, and security of Oracle platforms.
This is a work-from-office role, and occasional out-of-hours or weekend support may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, support, and optimise Oracle database environments across projects
- Automate routine Oracle DBA activities using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, and Groovy
- Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and OEM environments
- Perform database patching, upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning
- Support Oracle databases hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data protection standards
- Work in Agile delivery teams and support multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams
- Provide production support and troubleshooting under tight SLAs
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
- 6+ years of Oracle DBA experience in large enterprise environments
- Banking or financial services experience is preferred
- Strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration
- Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard
- Expertise in RMAN, OEM, database patching, and migrations
- Strong skills in Performance Tuning
- Experience with OCI and AWS
- Good knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
- Strong Unix/Linux system knowledge
- Automation experience using Ansible and Git
- Scripting skills in Bash and/or Python
- Familiarity with Agile delivery practices
- Jenkins and Groovy
- Terraform
- Exposure to other database technologies
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Strong professional communication skills
- Self-driven with good time management
- Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
