This role is contributing to the Motion Business High Power Division in Bangalore India
We are looking for a VFD firmware test automation developer at ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited (GISPL). This is a company which has 4 business areas to support ABB R&D projects globally. We are located in Bangalore, India and we have employees as a part of this company serving in the areas of Research, Development, Engineering center and Regional ERP support center which contributes to ABB's 4 business areas globally. In 2015 the company name was registered as ABB Global Industries and Services Private Limited (GISPL).
This position is opened in the Motion High Power (MOHP) Division, which is a global technology leader in variable frequency drives. We keep the world turning, while saving energy every day. Our drives help our customers to achieve energy efficiency, sustainability and achieve profitable growth.
You would be reporting to the Division R&D Manager located in Bangalore. You will be working with the teams which are developing and validating shippable products for the India and global markets. You will also be a part of global R&D community spread across the ABB MOHP division.
Your responsibilities
Developing test automation of functionalities of variable frequency drives (VFD).
Doing manual and exploratory testing to write strong high quality test cases and then developing its test automation.
Eliminate repeated manual work to enable fast releases with high quality automatic testing.
Releasing the software based on the global and local R&D commitments to the customers.
Exploring new challenging situations and writing strong test cases for the variable frequency drives.
Commitment to systematic preventive quality culture of the division R&D organization.
Refining customer needs together with software team and other stakeholders
Collaborating with other teams that are developing software and hardware for frequency converters
Quality assurance in all phases of development work
Mindset to take risk, share success and failures in the team.
Your background :
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, electronics or power electronic engineering.
Minimum 0-3 years of experience in testing or commissioning or maintenance of VFDs.
Hands on experience with ABB VFDs.
Good power electronics knowledge.
Experience in working with agile teams and knowledge of scrum process.
Good knowledge of C#, python languages.
Would be good to have exposure of RoboFrame or similar test automation frameworks
