Universal Robots is working to enhance its automation offerings in India with the opening of a Bengaluru service and repair center.
The Danish company makes collaborative robots, commonly known as cobots, that automate a variety of industrial manufacturing processes ranging from welding and assembly to quality inspection. Universal Robots also provides customers with training as well as other support and maintenance services to help them get the most of its machinery.
The Bengaluru facility is expected to help Universal Robots address growing demand in the Indian market for automation solutions and deliver faster service options for new and existing customers, according to a statement from the company. The center will handle both repairs and refurbishments for all Universal Robots products.
“Our new service, repair and training center represents a strategic investment, underscoring our commitment to the Indian market. This center will enable us to offer faster, localized support, helping our customers reduce downtime and boost productivity to fully leverage their cobots,” Anurag Thakur, vice president of services at Universal Robots, said in a statement.
