Application Engineer- Seals/ Valve

Role Summary:

This position is responsible for Requirement gathering, Product Configuring, Product Content & Data Management, Brainstorming sessions, Feasibility study, Solution building, Documentation on requirements, Testing of solutions in CPQ (configure, price & quote) applications for Seals/Valves by collaborating with Product Managers/Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)/Developers.

Responsibilities:

• Interact with Product Owners and other stakeholders to review, elaborate, analyze and document the requirements (including user interface, functional, and non-functional requirements)
• Participate in brainstorming sessions with product engineers (PE)/developers (DE) and help in optimum solution formation.
• Maintain Product Content and Data in Valve Applications.
• Takes ownership of customer concerns, provides a timely response and delivers high quality solutions for engineering systems and tools.
• Help developers during system development by preparing and providing test cases, flowcharts, Data Flow Diagram, Requirement documents, data etc.
• Prepare Statement of Work, Functional Requirement Document etc. against a Change Requests / Enhancements / Bugs.
• Monitor Product related issues reported in issue tracker and ensure these are resolved appropriately.
• Support periodical releases, Emergency Bug fixes and Co-ordinate with developers and support team.
• Coordinate with development consultants and make available the information required by them on-time.
• Document Product Data, Rules and Pricing and validate with Product Managers/Subject Matter Expert and maintain the records as per defined standards.
• Prepare test cases/scenarios and Test Changes in Stage/Test environment before Release to Production.
• Participate in code review sessions with DE lead to confirm that the approved logic has been implemented properly by DE.
• Learn consistently and share the best practices and knowledge to the team members.
• Continually update technical knowledge & skills and also investigate about new technologies in industry.

Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
• 3 years of experience as Product engineering for any Configure, Price, Quote tool/software for Pumps/Seals, Valves

REQUIRED SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES

• Excellent understanding of efficient business processes within Configure, Price, Quote domain.
• Experience in configuring of any manufactured/mechanically engineered product preferably Pump, Seals etc.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience in working with all management levels by partnering/interfacing with business leaders.
• Achieve & maintain high level of internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Desire for a challenging work environment and function as a good team player.
• Good interpersonal and communication (both verbal & written) skills.
• Adapt quickly to changing business and customer needs.
• Awareness in Excel VBA programming or flavor to read software codes and capacity to correlate software code with issues.
• Preferred experience with automated API tool testing projects/applications.
• Preferred to have knowledge about Flowserve product offerings.
