About The Role
G2 is looking for a Content Marketing Specialist, responsible for writing different long-form content formats on the Learn Hub and G2.com, reviewing and providing in-depth feedback to their peers’ content pieces, and optimizing their content based on best SEO practices. This individual will have a strong writing background, preferably in tech, IT, or SaaS, as well as the ability to continuously hit deadlines, and a passion for how content can achieve business goals. They will report to a Content Marketing Manager.
In This Role, You Will:
- Based on the assigned software categories, conduct a thorough research and competitive analysis to understand the current content coverage. Identify content gaps in different funnel stages (Top, Middle and Bottom) and the target keywords/topics. Based on the above, plan and write high-quality, competitive content.
- Efficiently write and publish 4-6 articles a month, each article averaging about 2,000-3,000 words in length, on a variety of technical topics. Independently manage your writing process from start to finish.
- Optimize content for search engines and lead generation purposes; stay up-to-date on SEO and on-page optimization best practices. Include and create relevant multimedia content within the articles.
- Provide in-depth peer reviews for your colleagues’ content, including competitive analysis and design check.
- Keep a track of performance metrics (e.g. traffic, engagement, etc.) for your content pieces and understand what’s working and what’s not working.
- Regularly promote your content on a variety of social media platforms
- Bring and share your ideas and learnings with manager/team members to support content experimentation.
Minimum Qualifications:

- A passion for and a strong understanding of the industry and our business’ mission.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of the Learning Hub.
- Expert grasp on AP style editorial standards and American English.
- Excellent organizational skills to work independently and manage projects with many moving parts.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines.
- 1-3 years of content marketing and content creation experience.
Preferred experience:
- At least 5 published articles, ideally in the SaaS, IT, marketing, or tech spaces.
- Demonstrated background in writing for SEO.
- Basic graphic design knowledge.
- Understanding of content management systems, HubSpot preferred.
- Experience using SEO research tools, such as SEMrush and Ahrefs.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, journalism, or similar.
