Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead and manage the company's finance and accounting functions while supporting business growth in the robotics manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing finance, costing, compliance, financial reporting, and working capital management. This role offers the opportunity to grow into a senior leadership position based on performance and team-building capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
A. Procurement, Supply Chain & Manufacturing Finance
  • Partner with the operations team to optimize the procurement of components and materials.
  • Manage landed cost tracking and variance analysis for raw materials and imported components.
  • Manage inventory movement across different production cycles and locations.
  • Monitor procurement-related financial metrics and support cost optimization initiatives.
  • Support and monitor import/export financial processes, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with logistics, procurement teams, customs consultants, and finance stakeholders to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Track duties, taxes, freight, and related costs for accurate financial reporting and costing analysis.
B. Costing, Cost Control & Working Capital Management
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of costing frameworks across the organization.
  • Develop and manage Cost Centre structures and ensure accurate allocation of expenses.
  • Establish and maintain Standard Costing practices for manufacturing operations.
  • Perform detailed Cost Analysis and Cost Control to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Analyze production variances and provide recommendations for process and cost improvements.
  • Support management with product costing, pricing inputs, and profitability analysis.
  • Optimize the cash conversion cycle, specifically focusing on inventory turnover and accounts payable/receivable.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting to ensure liquidity for large-scale production runs and R&D cycles.
  • Monitor working capital requirements and support efficient utilization of funds.
C. Closing of Books, Reporting & Financial Planning
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy in accordance with statutory standards.
  • Lead the preparation of financial statements, MIS reports, budgets, forecasts, and management dashboards.
  • Support investor and management reporting through insightful financial analysis.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation for manufacturing equipment and proprietary software (future).
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to management and key stakeholders.
D. Fundraising, Banking & Investor Relations
  • Assist the leadership team in capital-raising activities (Equity/Debt) by supporting the preparation of financial models, pitch decks, and data rooms.
  • Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions for working capital limits, term loans, and other financing requirements.
  • Support financial due diligence and investor information requests.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and business growth initiatives.
E. Compliance, Audits, Internal Controls & Governance
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations, including GST, Income Tax, TDS, and other statutory requirements.
  • Manage statutory audits, tax audits, internal audits, and regulatory filings.
  • Maintain strong financial governance and ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards.
  • Drive timely closure of audit observations and compliance requirements.
  • Establish and monitor robust internal control systems to safeguard assets and prevent leakages in the production environment.
  • Standardize Operating Procedures (SOPs) across finance and inter-linked departments.
  • Drive process improvements through automation, ERP utilization, and financial controls.
  • Ensure accuracy, transparency, and accountability across financial operations.


Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
  • 3–5 years of post-qualification experience in finance and accounting.
  • Continue to retain the existing responsibilities around accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, taxation, audits, cash flow management, and financial controls.
  • Manufacturing/Robotics industry experience is mandatory, preferably in robotics, industrial, engineering, electronics, automotive, or related sectors.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
  • Mandatory experience in manufacturing finance processes and operational finance.
  • Hands-on experience in:
    • Costing and Cost Centre Management
    • Standard Costing
    • Cost Analysis and Cost Control
  • Strong experience in industrial taxation, statutory compliances, and audit requirements.
  • Experience with inventory accounting, procurement finance, and working capital management.
  • Exposure to import/export procedures, documentation, and related financial processes will be a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced financial modeling.
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
