The Principal Engineer - Salesforce is responsible for leading Salesforce development and integration efforts, managing the implementation of components and applications, and ensuring effective communication across technical and business teams. This role involves prioritizing tasks, debugging complex issues, conducting quality assurance, and facilitating knowledge transfer within the team.

- 9+ years solid development implementation and support experience in enterprise-level Salesforce.com CRM/Force.com projects using agile software development methodologies throughout the whole life cycle with repeated and demonstrable success.
- Intermediate level understanding of the Salesforce.com product suite, including Experience Cloud, Sales, Service, as well as the Force.com Platform
- 7+ years extensive configuration/declarative design experience with Salesforce.com administration, role hierarchy, approval process, validation rules, and security controls
- 7+ years development and support experience with customizing the Salesforce.com platform using Apex, Visualforce, SQL, SOS, Creating Experience Cloud components, using CSS, and javascript for add on capabilities
- 3+ years development and support experience with customizing the Salesforce.com platform using Aura, Lightning Web Components
- 7+ years experience with Salesforce.com code/data management tools like VSCode, Data Loader, Workbench, GitHub, Bitbucket and Developer Console
- 7+ years implementation/support experience with Salesforce.com AppExchange applications such as Financial Force products (Professional Services Automation and Revenue Recognition & Forecasting)
- 7+ years implementation experience documenting business processes and wireframing system designs using process flow diagram tools, sequence diagrams, etc. as well as making recommendations for future-state improved processes and system designs
- 5+ years development and support experience integrating Salesforce.com with other systems (SAP, Workday, Service Now and cloud/on-prem JIRA), including REST/SOAP API calls and using 3rd party ETL tools, such as MuleSoft. Leverage Salesforce provided integration services such as Platform Events, Outbound Messaging or Change Data Capture
- 7+ years development and support experience with single-org deployments and multi-org consolidations
- Possesses and applies moderate to complex knowledge of particular product or platform to the completion of assignments
- 3+ years experience interfacing and partnering with vendors
- 3+ years experience assisting in strategy/roadmap and planning
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization (technical and business)

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for Experience Cloud development (ex: Customer Portal)
- Responsible for all program development within Salesforce and integration to other MA Business Applications.
- Good understanding of most dependencies, interfaces and services required by assigned components and other related areas of the system
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast- paced environment, including estimating and planning own and others work
- Determines optimal and efficient designs for application Develops detailed design tech specifications for application
- Leads development application from detailed design specifications
- Configure/develops and unit tests assigned areas following ETS development processes
- Debugs moderately to complex problems in the primary tool required for the role and resolves in a timely manner
- Implements changes to system assuring the changes do not introduce new issues
- Keeps abreast of improvements in software techniques and develop some improvements on own
- Facilitates technology and skills knowledge transfer within the team and beyond
- Ability to influence and negotiate agreement on scope and schedule with business partners
- Lead or perform ongoing production support and end user support in timely manner
- Perform quality assurance on all technical deliverables
- Participate in demand and planning management conversations with assigned business partners around their needs for ETS related services
- Assist in organizing, planning and managing projects and ensuring all related SDLC activities are executed with quality and within schedule
- Work to becomes the resident expert on assigned components
- Leads Interactions with business to develop enterprise solutions
