The RoleThis role involves managing the testing lifecycle, from test planning and design to execution and reporting, and requires close collaboration with software development, project implementation team and management, customer, and other stakeholders.
The candidate must have the technical background and experience required to interact directly with strong technical engineers and management. He must have a proven record in managing test execution of complex power infrastructure projects.
The successful applicant will contribute to project delivery excellence in support of utility customers in the energy generation, transmission, and distribution industries. The role will report to the Senior Director, Professional Services Europe, and is based in our Cluj (Romania) office.
Your Impact
- Test Planning and Strategy. Develop and implement test strategies, plans, and procedures. Define test objectives, scope, approach, and deliverables in alignment with project goals.
- Test Design and Execution. Oversee the design and development of test cases, scripts, and scenarios. Ensure comprehensive test coverage by identifying test requirements and priorities. Perform tests.
- Quality Assurance. Implement best practices and standards for software testing and quality assurance. Monitor and evaluate the quality of software through different testing phases.
- Defect Management. Coordinate the identification, reporting, tracking, and resolution of software defects. Work closely with software development and project implementation teams to communicate issues and verify fixes.
- Stakeholder Communication. Communicate test progress, results, and issues to stakeholders, including project managers, developers, and clients. Prepare and present test reports, metrics, and dashboards.
- Process Improvement. Continuously assess and improve the testing process and methodologies. Stay updated with the latest testing tools, techniques, and industry trends.
- Risk Management. Identify risks related to software quality and testing processes. Develop mitigation plans to address potential issues and ensure project stability.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, systems engineering or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Test Manager in the power utilities industry with depth knowledge of the power infrastructure in at least two of the following area: generation, transmission, and distribution.
- 3+ years of experience in software testing.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) is considered an advantage
- Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM).
- Strong understanding of various testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, V-Model).
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, QTP, JUnit) is considered an advantage.
- Excellent leadership in process management, interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven experience in leading and managing a team of testers including stakeholder from both internal and external organizations.
- Proven record managing multicultural technical teams within a matrix-based organisation.
- Ability to mentor and develop team members.
- Strong analytical skills to identify issues and determine solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
