Nielsen is looking to hire talented Support Engineers to build world class experiences and services for our customers. Nielsen’s Audience Measurement Engineering platforms support the measurement of television viewing in more than 30 countries around the world. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in technical support, with a passion for problem-solving and a commitment to excellence.
Job DescriptionResponsibilities
Monitor production systems and respond quickly to alerts, incidents, and outages to ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime.
Triage issues across different teams, services, databases, and infra; escalate and coordinate with the right owners, and drive root-cause analysis and ensure fixes are implemented for long-term stability.
Proactively identify, address recurring issues, and build automation to reduce manual intervention.
Improve observability by enhancing monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
Develop and maintain operational runbooks and SLO/SLA metrics.
Key Skills
Hands-on experience in Java/Python, SQL, Shell/Bash Scripting.
Hands-on experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL)
Familiarity with distributed systems, messaging, caching systems
Familiarity with monitoring/alerting stacks (ELK, APMs, Cloud Watch etc)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering or related fields, strong in CS fundamentals.
2+ Years of experience in technical support, SRE, or production engineering roles.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
